We stand against oppression in all forms, recognizing that “power over” dynamics are at the root of the vast majority of social and environmental crises we face. Through strategic partnerships, Unwoven Collective leverages research, impact investments, and grants to build community and create a more inclusive, equitable, sustainable, and just world.
// We seek collaborative, intersectional partners
To maximize the breadth and depth of impact, we focus on collaborations with inclusive changemakers whose innovative and research-based approaches address multiple social and/or environmental issues.
What We Do
Research
The most effective change endeavors are data-driven, therefore original and existing research guide all the work we do.
If community-based research does not exist, we collaborate with organizations to gather and analyze data to illuminate the interventions that will make the greatest difference.
We value equity and inclusion in all respects, including data collection. Who and what are measured matters.
We partner with organizations to use research for impactful learning, training, and ultimately change.
Because philanthropic and government funding alone cannot overcome our greatest social and environmental challenges, impact investing plays a pivotal role by leveraging the power of private capital for good.
We seek mission-aligned opportunities to partner and invest with for-profit social enterprises both in the U.S. and abroad.
We prioritize investing in early-stage businesses led by visionaries who identify as women or nonbinary; Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC); and/or LGBTQ+.
We strive to form long-term, personal connections with the nonprofit organizations we support. With an inclusivity lens, Unwoven Collective focuses its national and international grantmaking in the following areas:
